I got this as a game that I could use to teach my kids some basic ideas about investing while having some fun. Overall, it succeeds quite well. My 7-year old daughter asked to play it again and again at first – I think she wants to see somebody hit the Mother Lode, which hasn’t happened yet in our games.
The only thing I dislike about it is that, unlike real life, cash is a very UNSAFE way to keep your assets – you can lose 50% of your cash on hand (!!!) for landing on one of two spaces on the board. I’m still considering ways to tone that down a little without totally losing the penalty. This effect should be mitigated if you have more players (it’s always been just me & my daughter), as you’ll get more action in the market relative to the number of times you land on the big gotcha spaces.
Other than that, though, the game is very well done. The rumor/news system is simple yet brilliant – though I did have one question that came up that I didn’t see any answer for in the rules: what should be done if the number of times a rumor has been activated before being confirmed or dispelled exceeds 12? (This *almost* but did not quite actually happen in one game.) The game has a built-in timer (number of times the “Opening Bell” space is landed on) such that the time to play should not be greatly affected by the number of players, though it can vary significantly. Bankruptcy (= out of the game) is possible but fairly rare, and the gold mine offers the possibility of recovery to anyone who is still in the game.
I certainly don’t know of any other stock market game that comes close – if you’re interested in the subject, it would be hard to go wrong with this game.

i played stock rush for the first time since my wife bought it 2 weeks ago. she works on wall st and thought that this game would be fun. and wow, she was right!! what a game!!! at first, things looked a little confusing. but the detailed instructions were very useful and easy to understand. when we started getting into the game, we realized how much fun this game actually is. we were trading stocks like big shots and i was actually learning some things about the stock market. but what made this game really fun is that there is constant CHANGE!!! the stock prices are actually changing during the game and if your not wise about things, you could lose your shirt trading stocks(just like real life i suppose). whats really cool is that no two games will ever be the same, because the stock prices are always changing. so,you’ll never get bored of playing this game. Great game if you ask me. a big change from the bland and generic board games that have been on the market for years.

I ordered Stock Rush a few days back and we almost played 6-7 games in two days. It is quite a fun exciting game. At the same time, it is quite educational for young people.
The concept and idea behind the game is well planned. The stocks do vary quite a lot within a game(So, fortunes change quite often) and also between games(no two games you play will be alike). Add to this the gold rush and gold mine concept of earning money in the game, it becomes a great game.
I recommend this board game to all lovers of monopoly, stock market and strategy based board games.
Strategy involved: 2 out of 5
Luck involved: 4 out of 5
Playing time: 30-90 minutes (short game-long game)

This game is a great education value. I had my friends son be the banker and he had to do all the math. He learned alot of multiplication and division.
The game is also alot of fun to play. It looks like you are leading the pack and then the tax man shows up at your door to get 50% of your money.
If it is not the tax man then you stock may fall do to rumors that are spreading through out the stock market and before you can dispell the rumor the stock has lost its value and you are no longer on top of the world.
The other great part of the game is that you just don’t now how long the day may go. On day went for many trips around the board the next day did not even make it half way around the board.
We laughed and cried and screamed with joy as we rolled the dice and watched the market go up and down and pray for the day to go on or the day to end. Hoped that we would pass the tax man and be allowed to keep are money to invest in a new product or a stock.
If you have young children then this is a great learning game and even if you don’t it is a great game to play.
