12/13 – ETF Trading – Gain on XLU, UPW

A small gain on our XLU trade: our etf exit signals triggered on Friday for XLU and UPW with the positive close on Friday. We gained .81% on XLU. For the leveraged trade in UPW, we gained 1.59%.

We have made 32 winning trades out of 40 for the year. That’s a winning percentage of 80%. Our goal is to produce more winning trades versus losing trades. On that goal, we’re still on track. Review our monthly trading results here.

Friday’s charts are posted below. All trades were at the market close.

I have no etf trading opportunities to suggest for today. The broader market is over-bought and above its 200 day moving average. A stock market sell-off will trigger some new etf trading signals.

Be ready for the next set of etf trading signals. Get the most popular chapter of Larry Connors’ best selling book in this FREE Report. Learn one of the best performing ETF trading strategies available and used here at ETF-Stock-Trading.com.

12/10 – ETF Trading – XLU, UPW

XLU closed higher yesterday. As such, you did not take the second trading position in the etf trade. Likewise for the leveraged etf trade in UPW. Updated charts are posted below.

Our trading strategy is to scale in with up to three 3 trading positions, but we’ll patiently wait for the market to present the trading opportunities. Take a second trading position today should XLU close lower than our entry price – the same for UPW. All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly.

Otherwise, our exit signals are triggered when the etf price is greater than it’s MA(5), or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI(2) is greater than 70.

Join me everyday to follow these etf trading signals. All of the signals and strategies I use for etf trading are found in the book by Larry Connors: High Probability ETF Trading. His etf trading strategies have only a few rules and you’ll be able to back-test and apply the strategies to the next trading day. With easy to follow trading strategies, clear explanations, and years of tested results, there is no better place to start finding new trading edges than in High Probability ETF Trading. Get your copy today and be ready for the next trading session.

12/08 – ETF Trading – XLU, UPW

The S&P Utilities Sector ETF closed lower yesterday, generating an etf trading opportunity. Consider taking a long position in XLU should the etf close lower today.

For the leveraged etf trade, consider taking a position in UPW. However, follow the etf trading signals for XLU. UPW is a double etf – please trade carefully.

XLU – TThe Utilities Select Sector SPDR® Fund, before expenses, seeks to closely match the returns and characteristics of the Utilities Select Sector Index.

UPW – ProShares Ultra Utilities seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to twice (200%) the daily performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Utilities IndexSM.

We may take up to 3 trading positions over the next couple of days. Our first position is 1/6 of our total trading amount. Our second position is 1/3 of our total trading amount. Our third trading position is 1/2 of our total trading amount. You could also position your trades in a 20-30-50 ratio.
