07/02 – ETF Trading – GLD, UGL

Put GLD on your etf watch list today. Take an initial position should this etf close lower today. GLD had quite a sell-off yesterday. For a leveraged trade, consider UGL.

GLD – The objective of the SPDR® Gold Trust is for the Shares to reflect the performance of the price of gold bullion, less the Trust’s expenses.

UGL – ProShares Ultra Gold seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to twice (200%) the daily performance of gold bullion as measured by the U.S. Dollar p.m. fixing price for delivery in London.

We’ll take up to 3 etf trading positions. All etf trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly.

Have a great holiday weekend! We’ll pick it up next week with some new etf trading ideas for you to follow.

03/17 – ETF Trading – Gains on GLD, UGL

Nice gains on our trade! Markets closed higher and triggered our exit signals for GLD and UGL. We gained 2.11% on GLD and 4.11% on UGL.

Our exit signals were triggered when the etf price moved higher than it’s MA(5), or – for the larger gain – when the RSI(2) moved above 70. We use the latter on our etf trades here.

All trades were at the market close. Updated charts posted below.

03/16 – ETF Trading – GLD, UGL

GLD closed higher yesterday. As such, you did not take the third trading position in the etf trade. Likewise for the leveraged etf trade in UGL.

Our trading strategy is to scale in with up to three 3 trading positions, but we’ll wait for the market to present the trading opportunities. Take a third trading position today should GLD close lower than 107.95 – the same for UGL at 44.68.

Otherwise, our exit signals are triggered when the etf price is greater than it’s MA(5), or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI(2) is greater than 70.

Updated charts are posted below. All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly.
