04/01 – ETF Trading – IYR, URE

Our etf trading signals for XLF / UYG did not trigger yesterday. As such, we did not take the trade.

Today, put IYR on your watch list today. Should it move lower today, take your first trading position at the market close. We may take up to 3 trading positions over the next several days.

For a leveraged trade, consider URE. Take your first long position in URE should it move lower today. We’ll be using IYR as the signal bearer.

IYR – The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, to the performance of the real estate sector of the U.S. equity market, as represented by the Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index.

URE – ProShares Ultra Real Estate seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to twice (200%) the daily performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate IndexSM.

All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly!

ETF Trading – XLI, SIJ, IYR, SRS

XLI closed higher, yesterday. And even though it closed above it’s 200 day moving average (in violation of the guidelines set forth in High Probability ETF Trading), this etf, nevertheless, looks overbought and due for a correction.

The same applies for SIJ (inversely).

I added the 50 day moving average on the charts – I find the MA(50) helpful in finding the sub-trend of the larger trend and direction of the stock price.

Take a look at IYR today. Should it close higher, I might short the stock. You could also take a long position in SRS (the double inverse etf). On a related note, read this post by Mike Shedlock. I really don’t think real estate is going to get better any time soon.  Your thoughts?

XLI – Look how the stock price bounced off the MA(50) – resistance?
