11/10 – ETF Trading – Gain on FXI, FXP

A very nice gain on our short trade! Our exit signals for FXI triggered with yesterday’s sell-off and we took a gain of 5.42% at the close. The inverse trade in FXP yielded a gain of 11.16%. We didn’t have a full trading position, but still, it was a nice one-day trade.

Our goal is to produce more winning trades versus losing trades. On that goal, we’re still on track. We have made 18 winning trades out of 22 over the past 12 months. That’s a winning percentage of nearly 82%!

I have no trades to recommend for today. We’ll wait and see what the the market presents for us today.

11/09 – ETF Trading – FXI, FXP

The market continued higher yesterday and so did FXI. As we discussed yesterday, we took our first short position in the etf trade as a result. For the leveraged trade, we took our first long position in FXP. Updated charts are posted below.

As mentioned yesterday, we’ll scale in with up to 3 trading positions. So, take a second short trading position should FXI close higher today (FXP close lower).

Otherwise, our exit signals for FXI are triggered when the etf price is less than it’s 5 day moving average, or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI 2 is less than 30.

Trade FXP on the signals for FXI. All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly.

11/08 – ETF Trading – FXI, FXP

Let’s take another look at FXI for a short trade. FXI closed higher yesterday and is over-bought. Consider taking a short position in FXI should the etf close higher again today.

For a leveraged trade, consider FXP. FXP is a double inverse etf – please trade carefully. Use the etf trading signals for FXI to trade FXP.

FXI – The iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the FTSE China 25 Index.

FXP – ProShares UltraShort FTSE China 25 seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to twice (200%) the inverse (opposite) of the daily performance of the FTSE China 25 Index.

We may take up to 3 trading positions over the next couple of days. Our first position is 1/6 of our total trading amount. Our second position is 1/3 of our total trading amount. Our third trading position is 1/2 of our total trading amount. You could also take positions in a 20-30-50 ratio. All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly.

Assuming we get into the trade, our exit signals for FXI are triggered when the closing price for FXI is lower than it’s 5 day moving average, or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI 2 is less than 30. Trade FXP on the signals for FXI.
