02/23 – ETF Trading – No Trades Today
Good morning. The broader market remains overbought (see the updated chart for SPY below). As such, I have no etf trading suggestions for today. A stock market pull-back will trigger some new etf trading signals.
Once we take an etf trade, we won’t always take just one trading position. There are times when we’ll scale in to the trade – sometimes up to 3 to 4 additional positions. And each position gets a bit larger than the previous position. Larry Connors has a great summary of these strategies which you can review here.
At ETF-Stock-Trading.com, we scale in with 3 positions. You can download the worksheet I use here.

On Friday, our etf exit signals triggered for FXI and FXP. We shorted FXI and gained 1.71%. We bought FXP and gained 3.09%. Not bad for one-day trades!
All trades were at the market close.
I have no etf trading opportunities to suggest for today. The broader market is over bought – a stock market pull-back will trigger some new etf trading signals. Patience is often rewarded!

02/19 – ETF Trading – FXI, FXP
FXI moved higher at the close yesterday and you took your first short position. Should FXI move higher today, take a second short position. Otherwise, our exit signals are when the closing price of FXI moves below its MA(5) or – for a potentially larger take – when the closing price of FXI satisfies RSI(2) < 30.
For the leveraged trade, you took your first long position of FXP (the double inverse etf of FXI). Even though FXP moved higher at the close yesterday (we were looking for it to move lower), we’re trading on the signals of FXI. Take your second long position in FXP should FXI move higher today. Exit at the close when the closing price of FXP moves above its MA(5), or – for a potentially larger gain – when the closing price satisfies RSI(2) > 70.
All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly.
