12/24 – ETF Trading – FXI

Good morning and Merry Christmas.

FXI moved higher yesterday, and we exited the trade on the RSI(2)>70 signal at the market close. Unfortunately, we took a 3.43% loss on the trade. Recall that we entered the position on 12/9 and then scaled-in to the trade over a several day period.

No other trades to suggest today. Markets close at 1 pm today. We’ll pick up the action on Monday.

All of these etf trading ideas are based on the strategies found in the book by Larry Connors: High Probability ETF Trading. All stock trades are at the market close.

Join me every day as I offer new etf trading strategies for you to follow.

12/18 – ETF Trading – FXI, SPY

Markets moved lower yesterday and so did FXI. We’re into a full trading position, patiently waiting for our exit signals to trigger.

Our etf exit signals are triggered when the etf price is greater than it’s MA(5), or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI(2) is greater than 70; we’ve been using the latter. All trades are at the market close.

Though futures are higher this morning, put SPY on your watch list today. Take an initial trading position should SPY close lower today.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF – SPY – generally corresponds to the price and yield performance of the S&P 500 Index.
