11/11 – ETF Trading – No Trading Today
On this day, please remember the Veterans who proudly served our country.
—–
No trades for today. The stock market certainly remains overbought (see the chart of SPY I’ve posted – the RSI(2) remains very high). We’ll patiently wait for the market to trigger our entry signals.
In the meantime, get a quick lesson on how to become a high probability trader in this article by Larry Connors. In it, he talks about his TPS strategy. TPS stands for Time, Price and Scale-in and has been the backbone of our ETF trading.
Discover all the details of TPS and other etf trading strategies in the book by Larry Connors: High Probability ETF Trading. His etf trading strategies have only a few rules and you’ll be able to back-test and apply the strategies to the next trading day. Take your ETF trading to the next level in High Probability ETF Trading. This new strategy book, complete with exact trading rules, is backed by over a decade of statistical results.

11/10 – ETF Trading – No Trading Today
Is this a blow-off top or something more? The stock market has certainly become overbought (see the chart of SPY I’ve posted – notice the high RSI(2) value). We’ll just wait and see what the market will do.
So why not go short here? Our rules tell us to short an etf only when the etf price is less than it’s 200 day moving average. Why is that important? Find out in the article I posted yesterday by David Penn.

11/9 – ETF Trading – No Trades Today
My apologies for the delayed post – I was having technical difficulties this morning.
There are no etf trades for today. We’ll wait for our entry signals to trigger on a market pull-back.
One of the trading signals I use is the 200 day moving average. David Penn of TradingMarkets.com has a great article about using the 200 day moving average in etf trading. I think you’ll find it informative.
Discover all the etf trading strategies and entry signals I use. They’re found in the book by Larry Connors: High Probability ETF Trading. 11/6 – ETF Trading – IWM, UWM
Markets closed strongly higher yesterday and triggered exit signals for IWM and UWM – unfortunately for us, at a loss.
Our etf exit signals are triggered when the etf price is greater than it’s MA(5), or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI(2) is greater than 70; we’ve been using the latter. All trades were at the market close.
We now have no active trades; we’ll patiently wait for the next set of signals to trigger new trading opportunities.
How do all of these trading signals work? Find out in the book by Larry Connors: High Probability ETF Trading. His etf trading strategies have only a few rules and you’ll be able to back-test and apply the strategies to the next trading day. With easy to follow signals, clear explanations, and years of tested results, there is no better place to start finding new trading edges than in High Probability ETF Trading – available at Amazon.com or save $10 at TradingMarkets.com.

11/5 – ETF Trading – IWM, UWM, EWT, EWY
Markets closed a bit higher yesterday and triggered exit signals for EWT and EWY – unfortunately for us, at a loss. We lost 2.18% on EWT and we lost .66% on EWY.
Otherwise, we still have full trading positions for any of the remaining etfs we’ve been following for the past week and half – IWM, and UWM.
Our exit signals are triggered when the etf price is greater than it’s MA(5), or – for a potentially larger gain – when the RSI(2) is greater than 70; we’ve been using the latter. All trades are at the market close. Please trade responsibly!

Part of becoming a better trader is reviewing your etf trades. For EWT, we followed our trading signals precisely. Yet on a complete review of the trade, we would have be better served by not scaling into our position on 10/26 and 10/27 – the etf price dropped, but only by a penny on those days. Had we scaled into our second position on 10/28 and our third position on 10/30, our gain on the complete trade would have been 1.27% instead of a 2.18% loss. Consequently, the degree of price decline on the second and third trading position might be something to consider on your next trade.

Join me everyday to follow the etf trading signals. All of the signals and strategies I use for etf trading are found in the book by Larry Connors: High Probability ETF Trading.
